Wow, at this point I can proudly say that I love Hyouma's character. He really wants to revenge but he know what he should and shouldn't do. He cherishes what he's having now, thinks carefully and isn't engulfed in hatred. Those're what most of shonen MC can't do even until now.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Agreed he knows when not to over do things, Hyouma truly is great he is always calm, unlike others that would blow a fuse in a split second.

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

Love his character development. From a guy who killed all spirits discriminately to a guy who opened up his heart that all spirits were not bad, all thanks to Botan and her spirits who tried to interact with him. He still engulfed in hatred that is totally understandable, but he shouldn't put that hatred on all spirits and judge all spirits are bad as like he being racist.

ShallotBlackMUI • 1 year ago

More character development in the past 9 episodes than Sasuke ever did in 6 seasons.

Jokes aside, Hyouma is really changing, but I would think that he uses his hatred on the more sinister tsukugami.

Esenpai • 1 year ago

I've been enjoying his character since he joined entered the Nagatsuki residence he's shown himself to be straightforward and earnest yet open minded and self reflective. I don't think the kid has an annoying bone in his body. Has to be my MC of the season.

Yes he is the most peaceful version of Eren x)

Your are speaking the words I am thinking.

Quendi • 1 year ago

I mean considering how the paper umbrella wiped the floor with his sister and brother who where prodigies even Hyouma would realize he ain't ready yet and him saying how he promised he would get stronger only reinforces the fact that he prolly ain't strong enough yet. I mean he was somewhat struggling against the tsukumogami in the last episode 1v1 so there ain't no dice that he can take on the paper umbrella. And sure he hated tsukumogami but even back then he was never shown actively searching/hunting for the paper umbrella tsukumogami.

Hyouma = better version of MC in Jujutsu no Kaisen

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Great feast/hot pot celebration for Hyouma and Botan its wonderful.

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

Noticed that all of them involved with the hot pot celebration, which seems nice.

Pinkhair could be a psychopath... and yes, I do like her...

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

All for her entertainment even her make-up reason lmao.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Why can't Hyouma 2-time ?

Vlad • 1 year ago

He could try, but his social skills, emotional intelligence, and overall density are likely to make it blatantly obvious with all the to be expected fallout...

Josef Bajarias • 1 year ago

Not to mention Yu .... yeah, very likely that Yu will give him hell

i want more romance!

MRpaisan • 1 year ago

Well looks like their relationship is working out quite well. Looks like Hyouma is actually interested in Botan after all. He would not be so shy, and embarrassed about the questions other wise. Hyouma is a likable character. He's strong, and determined, but knows where the boundaries lie.

Momonga • 1 year ago

21:19 Hyoma: i had never met tsukumogami like them before!
*flashback to episode 1*
Unknown tsukumogami: h...
Hyoma: Omae wa mo shindeiru!

Vlad • 1 year ago

I'd love to go shopping with them. LOL. Also, hot pot with the right broth and sauces is great! I once went with a Chinese colleague from work to a shop and felt like a total analphabet because nothing was labelled in the countries language...

1st to arrive weird, lets goo guys you do not want to miss episode 10.

Usually there would have comments already hmmm.

Asarubowow • 1 year ago

Not Gonna lie, Hyoma is definitely the most matured MC in anime, others act mature but they're not, they are honestly just gifted OP powers. Meanwhile, hyoma was one of the only MC's that really did change and did not revert to an annoying common shounen MC characteristics, there might be others that come close but Hyoma so far is just too mature. Definitely should be the top MC in anime for the last 5 years and his hatred is directed properly too.

An this ep was so warm...I liked those two blushing at each other.

Maahir • 1 year ago

Hyoumas had as much character development in 10 episodes as most shonen MCs get after like 100

Shadows_Edge • 1 year ago

funny how authors dont understand their own characters.... Hyoma would never have declined that invitation if he would stay true to his character. So just for stories sake the author broke character to make him go down a different route. As Hyoma says the revenger for his brother and sister was his lifelong goal and only drive to get through this life his "raison d'etre". Having a crush on a girl wouldnt make him miss that opportunity. Such a shame since I rly enjoyed this anime up to this point...

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

That is what we call character development. You just don't understand his character. He was in full revenge mode because he saw all spirits as bad but upon he lives with Botan, he sees more light in spirits as all spirits are not bad. First off, he's not a bad person or a heartless to begin with. He learned Botan's history and live together with spirits, thus his heart is soften and more open with how Botan and her spirits tried to interact with Hyoma even he had seen them as his enemy back then. Living with his family wouldn't do anything because they're not at his age where he can feel comfortable with and tried to interact as a friend where he can open his heart that had been shut since he was a kid, bet he never have a friend after his sibling died since he fixate on revenge and getting stronger. Deep down he probably feel like he has something to protect that include Botan and the way of live that he has now that he subconsciously don't want to let goes off. Don't forget the fact that he NEVER experience this feeling before because his heart is full of revenge. He would 100% join them back then if he never join Botan's household. People can change and that include the guy who fixate on revenge like Hyoma.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

i agree with your reasoning.

Billy Bob • 8 months ago

yup he's the Tokyo Revenger...p.s the reason he's sent here is to..'truly learn the nature of spirit-kuns' and it's exactl what he's doing

Xandra • 1 year ago

"Authors don't understand their own characters"....if this is not one of the stupidest comments I have had the displeasure of reading. 😑😩

vovan1 • 1 year ago

happens all the time. The Problem is Authors world view is not always rational, sometimes they create character only from visuals, and miss on all the quirks the character would need to withhold in that persona.

but i do agree here it's still acceptable. Sometime the divination is just horribly wrong.

Xandra • 1 year ago

Why should it be rational? Are the authors not allowed to flesh out their characters? Should their characters stay one dimensional?

LesK • 1 year ago

and folks gripe whine and complain about 2D characters that are flat and single purposed and never grow or evolve or improve... then folks like ^ that guy @Shadows_EdgeShadows_Edge show up thinking THEY know better than the show's screenwriters or even the source materials' authors.

heck, even The Big Three Shonen Jump MCs have grown and changed... even if it takes years or decades to do it. :> just look at Ichigo from Bleach. guy goes from here to there in 366 episodes. protecting just his family, to including his friends, then his whole town, to including the Soul Society, and even the Hollows in Hueco Mundo in TYBWA today... increasing your 'sphere of influence' is one of the hallmarks of growing up in real life. :D

Xandra • 1 year ago

At least there's other people besides me, who likes when a character evolves

LesK • 1 year ago

;) when it makes sense though. timeskips where 'people change' and to us the consumers nothing has happened... and yet people have changed... makes no sense to me.
